Health

Can communications enhance health?

Communications are an essential element of campaigns to improve the health and welfare of individuals and communities.

Social Change Australia specialises in communications, marketing and media that enhance the health of individuals and groups by:

  • providing health information, improving health literacy;
  • changing individual and shared behaviours that affect health; and
  • building communities and reforming public policies and procedures and the law.

Our Approach to Health Campaigns

We work with organisations whose missions range from reducing the incidence of infectious diseases to promoting mental health, fitness and creating health environments and mutually supportive communities.

Every health communications campaign is unique. Our approach is careful, tailored according to:

  • the health issue
  • the target population segment and identified sub-segments
  • the media and other spaces most shared by these segments
  • the particular health-related behaviours which need to change
  • the environments (physical, social, emotional) in which these behaviours occur
  • the cognitive, behavioural and social psychology underlying these behaviours

Research Tools we Use

Research and a focus on 'the customer' is key to our approach. Research tools we commonly use include:

  • literature reviews and desk research
  • consultation with key stakeholders
  • interviews and focus tests
  • testing and review of trial materials.

Our Health Clients

We've designed and implemented many health marketing campaigns.
