Jessika Lofstedt, Intern

Background

Jessika is a highly capable third year student studying communications at the University of Technology, Sydney. She specialises in public relations and has joined Social Change Media as an intern to gain more experience in the field of social marketing.

Jessika has a passion for social justice and is interested in how communications on social issues can help create a more equitable society.

Her university projects have so far focused on behaviour change programs. Last year she developed a childhood obesity campaign that aimed to change the eating and exercise habits of children.

Jessika is from Sweden and before coming to Australia spent five years travelling and working around Europe. Jessika has also worked as a veterinary assistant, waitress and as a professional horse rider. She is also multi-lingual: in addition to her fluent English and native Swedish, she also speaks German and can even carry conversation in Dutch or French!

Current Projects

Jessika is currently helping us produce an advocacy kit for Young People and the Arts Australia and has proved herself to be a very efficient copywriter. This kit is part of an education program Social Change Media is undertaking to help young people involved in arts to play the political lobbying game more effectively.

And away from the office...

Jessika likes to spend the precious little time she has away from work and study escaping the city, riding horses or walking in the Blue Mountains.
